for some reason, 5er manufacturers seem to make the bottom corner of master bedroom slideouts about forehead high for someone who is about 6' tall. after two major gashes and picking myself up off the ground, next time, i will try to go around it, and not thru it!!!

Gotta watch those king pins, too!!! Our drive way sloped enough that I could walk under the bedroom - I frequently forgot when it was parked on level ground and tried to walk under it ............ big pain to my forehead!!

I am 6ft 4in and have wounded myself many a time on the bedroom slide until I, like many others put a section of styrofoam 'noodle' on the corners. Nice bright colours and I see many doing this.

The pipe insulation works, but you can protect yourself from the corners by buying rubber corner guards from Camping World. They are glued on permanently with supplied doublesided tape & they look nicer than pipe insulation. They just aren't as effective.

Ive seen rubber guards for the slideout corners. I whacked my head once, that was the day we bought our 5er. The memory of the blood running down my forehead has kept me clear of it since.

I did this same thing last weekend. Knocked myself to the ground. DS kept yelling at me, daddy are you all right, as I dusted myself off and noticed the blook trickeling down my forehead, yes son!! I thought to myself I won't do that again.

No bedroom slide, but, the front corner of the overhang is right at 5 1/2 ft. I'm only 5' 10" so it hits right at the forehead. Only took my first unhook to get my 'blooding'.
