Has anyone taken their "B" through this tunnel? I believe that it is allowed if you have your propane tank shut off, but would like to confirm this.

No problem with your B. We took a good sized TT through. It does get a little tight when a semi is coming in the opposite direction though...

the last time I went thru the tunnel, you had to stop and show them that the valve was turned off and the switch was off. I don't know if they have relax this procdure during the past year.

True, I think it depends on what kind of mood they are in or how much traffic is going through.

I personally would not depend on their mood... I have seen videos of tunnel fires.. not pretty... there is NO escape... not worth the taking a chance. I am not normally a worry-wart about such stuff... but I would stop and shut off the tanks too be sure....

Keep in mind that the two tunnels in Baltimore (the Harbor Tunnel and the Ft. McHenry Tunnel) don't allow any gas at all. None! Not even turned off.

I was thru the CBBT about 6-8 weeks ago, going both ways, in my little C. They asked, but didn't look, both times. Same thing last T'giving. All trips were made at light traffic times.
If you've not been that route before, you'll want to allow some sight-seeing time on the service island (S. end of S. tunnel). Your toll ticket allows you 18 hours to drive about 15 miles... there are signs that say 'No Camping' in the parking lot on the island, but I pretty much overnighted there once from ~8 pm 'til 4 am, and wasn't hassled. The views over the bay and ocean are nice, and you may find yourself pretty close to passing mechie or military ships... a rare treat for us inland dwellers.

I passed through there in a 35' Class A and turned off the gas before I got there. When on through and no one asked. It will be an experience you will not forget.

Yes, we went thru in our B. They just asked us if our propane was turned off. We knew it was but stopped alittle before that to make sure it was turned off.

Driving through that tunnel was one of the most white knuckle driving experiences of my life.
Narrow tunnel. Traffic going both directions.
I will avoid driving through it in my Pleasure-Way Excel ever again, but I suppose you should try it once, just for the thrill of it, and the happy feeling you get when you drive out of the tunnel...alive, and without any scratches on your vehicle.
I can't remember anything about the propane. I'm pretty sure they just ask if it's turned off.
