Should I be able to lower the jacks and push out the slide on my FW, when I have the trailer plugged into the truck? My trailer battery went dead, and I tried to lower the jacks to hook up, and no power to the jack motor, I was able to plug in to 30a service and lower the trailer, but was told later that it was not a good idea to use the inverter for lowering the trailer. Any help from the experts is appreciated.

I'm with dodge guy on this one. Either the fuse is blown or you never installed one in the under hood fuse center. They are not installed at the factory.
Also there is nothing wrong with lowering and raising the RV while connected to shore power. If it was a problem it wouldn't be wired to do it that way.
Just for jollies, doesn't the shore power run through the converter to charge the batteries? Hooked up to pickup puts charge to batteries. Anything 12v you run in the trailer runs off the batteries, so what would it matter being hooked up to shore power, TV, or just trailer batteries?

If you have a dead rv battery you will be drawing max from your truck to charge it. If shore power was not available you could disconnect your RV battery to run the jacks in a pinch and reconnect it to get it charged when going down the road. If shore power was available how did your battery go dead? If it is a bad battery it is unpredictable what would happen when connected to the truck as it is a lower power ckt than the converter.
