Curious to know how people with new TT's on seasonal sites handle warranty work on their TT. Especially those without a TV.

The frist year they did the repairs on site. After that they will still come to the campground but at a charge. They did come once soon after the warranty was over at no charge.

You will either need to take the RV back to the dealer or pay the trip-charge to have someone come to your site.
Warranties usually state that the trailer needs to be returned to the servicing dealer at the owner's expense.
The other option would be to have a friend with a suitable TV get your trailer to the dealer.

I have a TV and I guess I would have to work with the manufacturer to locate a dealer close by that would be willing to do any work concerning the build of the TT but I am also curious about appliance warranties which are separate and run longer. Are those manufacturers willing to let you have an independent come in and do warranty work and pay them or have you pay and reimburse you for work on site even if I have to pay travel charges. Each case would have to be weighed by me as the time, effort and expense to move the TT needs to be valued against paying a travel charge. Ideally fixing minor items myself and larger ones at the end of the season would be best.

>>independent service

Yes, Jayco allows warranty work to be done by independent service ... but you have to work through their 800 number to get approval.

Many small one-man RV repair servicemen are authorized service shops for Dometic, Norcold, etc.

Call the respective component manufacturer ... and they can probably tell you who is authorized in your area and whether they pay for a service call.

A $50.00 trip charge doesn't sound too bad. Depending on the distance, that's cheaper than the fuel to tow it.

While under warranty the dealer comes to service ours. If we call for something dumb we could do ourselves then we are charged $50. After the warranty is up it will be $50. a trip.

We bought ours and didn't have a TV last season. The dealer came out to service the unit on site, they travel twice a week. Dealer has stated while under warranty they will service onsite when possible.

A lot of places around here are seasonal CG's so this is typical in our area and much appreciated.

We are at large campground that has 400+ seasonal sites and we can’t tow our trailer to the dealer. Lots of Jayco owners there, and my dealer told us that while under warranty he would come service the trailer at no charge. His only request was that we understood he would normally wait until he had a few service calls arranged so they could send a tech out for all of them at once.

My only warranty claim so far was a dead converter. Called on a Monday and they said they already had a tech scheduled to be out there that Friday, so when I arrived that weekend it was already fixed.
