I personally like looking. I like looking at stuff I can afford and stuff I cant afford. I like to dream about what I might have someday...so go ahead and look. I understand that salesman might not like it but if they would just listen when you tell them you are just looking instead of tracking you like a shark following bait....
Anyways I wouldnt buy from a dealer going down because I have heard quite a few times that dealers will either not service or push service to the back burner if the trailer was not purchased from them. I agree that you should make the best deal you can and with payments you feel comfortable with and not compare to anybody else's deal. Happy Camping!

But off what? The real MSRP (doubtful) or some phony, made up MSRP?

You are close to the RV Capitol Shop around dealers if youre willing to drive to IN buy close to factory to save delivery charges, I got quotes from 25 different dealers and the price quotes were as high as Eight thousand dollars more from dealer to dealer. We got about 39 percent off MSRP paid a few hundred over invoice (yes I saw the factory invoice from a dealer at the bank

With the fuel crunch and many RV dealers and manufacturers going out of business, you can almost ask whatever you want within reason. The dealers are hurting and their flooring costs are not going away. If the first dealer won't, another will! You can get a good deal on a factory order. After all, the order costs the dealer nothing but time to do the paperwork. Perhaps the dealer who said no discount on a factory order just wanted to move his inventory.

Sorry, but I would seriously doubt that any self respecting dealer would rather sell an ordered unit than one from existing inventory. Why would he want to run the risk of paying additional floor plan interest when he could sell one today from stock and then order a replacement for future inventory??????? So I suspect you get a better deal by buying out of the dealers existing inventory.

Discount off the MSRP is a game we as consumers have created. Sure no one pays list however few dealers use the same list price. The only way you can tell if you've got a good price is to get prices from 2 or 3 dealers, on exactly the same units, compare and then be hard nosed. Finally you'd better be prepared to evaluate each dealer for support you'll need after devilery.

You obviously do not understand. The only liar ever in a salesman/consumer discourse is the salesman. Why ruin a good story by letting a few facts get in the way?

WE purchased a new 5er last Dec. Your starting point should be 40% off MSRP, by starting point I mean your initial offer. If you are ordering the RV you should get a real good deal, no flooring cost to the dealer. We ordered ours and paid 63% of MSRP or 37% discount. Go online to get MSRP, we found that dealers often in-flat these prices.

Not so...many a customer hates to tell the truth about what he paid for his RV, and how many miles to the gallon he is really getting...........
