Quick one for you guys, Unplugged my trailer from the 30 amp yesterday, knowing my battery is somewhat low I tried to turn on the furnace fan, no go. Not enough juice to run it. So I hooked up my truck to it via the plug and no changes. I have 12v at the trailer plug and am wondering if this should have been enough to run it or notice the lights get brighter or something. all the fuses on the trailer side are good. but I am thinking if I removed the batt, completely, I should still have juice via my pickup. I believe it runs through the converter box first.

Do you know if your truck supplies the 12v power at the plug without the truck running? If you plugged the trailer into the truck and the ignition was off, it is possible that there is a relay under the hood that is cutting power to the plug. My 99 F-250 is this way.

On another note, if your battery is too low, you may be simply sending all the amps (not that many) from your truck to the trailer battery. If you recently disconnected the A/C power and still do not have enough DC power, I would probably be investing in a new battery soon. Good Luck.

GM does not use an isolating relay like Ford does so just plugging it in SHOULD work provided you don't have a blown master fuse somewhere. Many RVs have a master fuse between the battery and the converter.

It would be good to know if there was a fuse somewhere I couldnt see..The converter box 40 amp fuses are both good.

Your house battery is so low it is taking all the amps coming through the cord and not leaving enough for anything else. Can you jump your truck battery directly to the CABLES for your house battery (take the house battery out of play). Should work fine then. Obviously you are going to have to get a battery anyway, why not just do it???....Brian

One invest in a Mulit=meeter ,two look for a bad ground, three look near the battery ,converter on the wall there should be a auto reset Thirty or forty amp braker . to test use light or meeter hot side from converter to ground ,then battery side to ground . Most likely bad or corroded plug from the trailer or bad ground. Skipper entry level over fifty years
