XZE came on the Vectra 4 years ago. All OK. Coach is under weight and tire pressure checked all the time.
Just wondering about the different letters on the tire.
Thanks
Bob

Michelin to review the differences between tire models. Not all models are avaialble in all sizes.

Both models you listed are for RV and Regional use, there are variations on these two models (XZE*, XZA-1, etc) for long haul use.

XZA "The all-position radial with proven versatility.

Massive shoulders and application specific compound help resist scrub and abrasion, extending tread life.

Zigzag groove design for true all-position use.

Application specific compounding helps improve resistance to scrub and abrasion."

and XZE: "A premium all-position radial with extra-wide, extra-deep tread designed to help deliver our best wear in high scrub applications.

Beefy, buttressed shoulders help resist tearing and accelerated wear in high scrub applications.

Extra strong curb guards help protect sidewalls against most impacts and abrasions for long casing life.

Groove bottom protectors help deliver additional defense against stone drilling.

Application specific, high scrub compound (chip and cut resistant in versions with * designation) make the XZE our longest wearing regional steer tire.

Deep, wide tread and optimized footprint shape help deliver long, even tread wear."

Different thread designs as you can see on the Michelin web site and the XZE is a "premium" tire and may have a different rubber compound.

I have the XZA2 Energy tires & it appears one of the main differences is load range.
XZA2's are load range J (heavier sidewall)
XZE's are load range H.

So does regional mean short haul trucking?

Short haul over-the-road and urban delivery. For urban delivery, the heavier guards, deeper rubber under the tread (assumption of more road frequent hazards).

I tire with heavier rubber, like the XZE, might run a little warmer than one with lighter rubber, like the XZA. But in a given size and load range, these two probably have the same, conservative, speed rating.

Bob, I ordered Michelin XRV tires on my 04 Winnebago when I bought it new they were an option at that time that cost me $4,654.00 . I've had very good luck with Michelins over the years and I have the utmost confidence in them. I have Michelin XZE on my Semi and Michelin XTE on the trailers that I pull. I have been trucking for over 40 years and have logged over 4 million miles. You have an excellent coach with excellent tires on it in my opinion! John
