Hello All,
My wife and I finally picked up our new to us trailer. We are taking the family on the first excursion starting this next Sunday. I feel pretty confident and I think that we are prepared. I was wondering about the unknowns though. Is there anything that you guys could offer that you think a new guy might overlook? Maybe things that you might have not thought about before your first trip. I have done alot of research but I know there are things that we forgot about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

No way can you anticipate and prepare for it all. I suggest you camp relatively close to services.... like a WalMart, etc.
Take a note pad and a credit card and just go.

We have done a lot of camping for a long time and we still find ourselves running out for this and that along the way.
Have a great trip and enjoy your new adventure.

I plan on that. Our first trip is only about 15 miles from our house and 5 miles from a walmart. Hopefully that will help.

Thanks,
Nick

LOL the BEST way to find out what you forgot is to reach for something and find it's not there. We're lucky we live in a place that almost ANYTHING you need is available just about ANYWHERE you happen to be. Good luck / Skip

Remember to take your chocks ... and your sense of humor.

Also, please remember that your first trip is usually your worst trip ... particularly if you've never pulled a trailer before.

You're going to be frightened by every bump, groan and bounce. You're going to be afraid of doing something wrong ... and you're going to do something wrong ... but don't worry ... we've all been there and done that.

Also ... keep in mind, we'll all be sitting in neighboring campsites, watching you back into your campsite ... critiquing your relationship with your wife. (Just joking. You'll think we're watching. But we're not).

Biggest thing is RELAX,take things slow and careful, think it through, get help backing it up,think about where your awning will stick out,(trees)and you'll be fine, enjoy your new trailer!

Punt and have fun. We always think of somthing we need. When we sold are PUP this year for a TT I cleaned out all kinds of stuff I thought we needed at one point. Funny how all that stuff even fit in are little PUP.

Thanks for the thoughts and words of encouragement. I'm sure we'll be fine. Just a little nervous.

Thanks,
Nick
