I have every confidence that you will forget a bunch of stuff, bring a bunch of stuff you don't really need, spend waaaayyy to much time trying to back into the campsite and level the trailer and in general do just about everything wrong. Just like all of us did our first few times out!
A small tool kit and a note pad don't run out and buy everything under the sun before your first trip there will always be things that you will find as you go. Each time you go out write down thing you would like to get or change. Don't let yourself get worked-up if there is something you forgot. The whole idea of RVing is to have fun and enjoy yourself if you keep that in mind you will always have a good time no matter what happens or what you forget

Just so everybody knows we didn't have to go to walmart one time. I did however right down about 20 things that we could have used. Simple things that we completely overlooked that would make certain things so much easier. We also got a list together of what needs to be added.(coat hooks, Towel racks etc.) All in all though it went well and just so you know I saw you watching me back in and yell at my wife. You know who you are and you're sick I tell ya.
You will be just fine. My wife and I took our new TT out this weekend for the first time. I have never owned a TT before and the thought of backing the thing in was much worse than it actually was. Just be prepared for the unexpected and it will happen, you will sit back at the end of the weekend and laugh about it. For instance, my wife didn't realize she couldn't take a 20 minute shower, shave her legs and do her hair until the gray water tank was full. Had to go and dump it. Pulled the awining out, and couldn't remember how to get it back in, grilled the perfect steak over the campfire, and got a piece stuck in my throat. LOL......given all that, it was one of the best weekends we have ever spent, and can't wait until we do it again in a couple of weeks.......
Enjoy, and make a lot of great camping memories.....they are all good.
Oh boy, I'm glad to see all these responses because my wife and I will be on our way out of town after work today to pick up our new Jayco Jayfeather LGT25F TT. Months of research, shows, reading books & topics on this site & others, negotiating with dealers, the time is here! We're excited, but a little apprehensive too. Reading these responses has calmed me somewhat. We're going to make a couple of one night stops on our way back....I'm sure we will experience what has been said above! Thanks for this post...
