It is that time of year, the dreaded clean and wax of the 5er. Have used wax, even tried Nu Finish, but looking at Protect All this time. For those that have tried both Protect All and wax, how would you rate the Protect All? Better than wax, same or didn't like as much? Does it leave a coating like wax that makes dirt, bugs, etc come off easier or not? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance.

I use ProtectAll and like it. It is safe to use on vinyl decals whereas wax that contains petroleum products are not. It does not produce as hard a finish as wax but is easier to apply, and you can apply subsequent coats without being concerned about buildup.

ProtectAll is great and I really like the UV protection it includes. THAT has kept my graphics looking new and crack free after 5 years.

I do however was my rig once a year sometimes twice with McGuires, the rest of the time ProtectAll. Below is a link to my own personal washing and waxing routine for those interested.

I used ProtectAll on our last TT (aluminum sided) and it did quite well compared to wax. I use wax (MeguiarsNXT)on the current TT as I was not sure how ProtectAll would be on Filon sided trailer.

I hsve used Protectall on my TT with good results. I like it because it is easy to get off and doesn't hurt the graphics

I used Protect All the first 2 years and it is very easy on and off. I didn't think the shine or protection lasted much more than a month. Last year I used the Mequires spray quick wax and the shine last much longer. Water still bubbles 1 year later but shine has dulled down. I think the Protect All may have prevented fading and I am torn about what I'll use next month when I clean up my rig. Randy

I put ProtectAll on the decals, and Mequiars on everything (over the top the the ProtectAll.) The shine is unbeatable IMO, and everything still looks new.

I was a diehard ProtectAll fan. Still do like it a lot, but this last polish job I did it with Meguires Paste wax, power orbital buffer to apply and buff. The shine is obviously much better and using the orbital buffer,it isn't that much harder to apply.

Just so you know.. Your question can be translate to "Wax v/s Wax"

Protect-all contains Caranuba wax. This is the wax in most all auto waxes so any cleaner/wax combination is going to be a lot like Protectall

Simonize, however, and a few other Premium brands, many of which are more work, are.... Worth it in my not so humble opinion.

Check that word "Many" ALL of them are more work.. But you get out of it what you put into it, The best results are the most work.

Tried it, streaked way too easily and was hard to get the streaks off. won't use it again.
Dri Wash N guard for me, and no I don't have any stake in it any more although I was a distributor a few years ago.
