Jetty park CG in Port Canaveral FL has a 1500 foot fishing pier. Nice family campground with good beach access and a nice playground. A long way from NC tho.

Check out High Rock CG in Lexington, NC.
It is on a beautiful lake; they rent pontoon boats; the sites are wooded. Nice, quiet area.
I killed many worms, but my buddy caught some nice ones, fish that is.

Not sure if you can get in without being a member, but Outdoor World's Resort on Lake Gaston is excellent. Pontoon boat rentals, buy your temp license at the camp store, even good fishing right from their dock. It's right outside of Littleton in the northern part of NC, maybe 20 or 30 mins west of I95 Roanoke Rapids exit.

About 400 miles south of your location in Tabor City, NC is a real nice family run RV park that has several stocked fishing ponds. Also less than a mile away is Lake Tabor, a lake that is a mile or more wide and long. This is also about 35 miles from Myrtle Beach, SC. PM me for more info. This is my home town. Daddy Joe's

Yogi in Cherokee is nice, with a stocked trout river running in front of it. A couple of miles down the road is stocked trout ponds. They are right in front of the KOA. It might be worth it to pay the extra to stay at the KOA if fishing is a big interest. I guess it depends on his experience with river vs. pond fishing. The Cherokee used to put a lot of effort into the trout fishing, but imo, the casino draws in the $ now, and they don't put as much effort into the trout. You don't have to have a NC license to fish on the reservation, but you do have to buy a tribal permit. I think your kids can fish on your permit.
