Propane prices are all over the place unlike gasoline. This past winter I paid as low as $2.19 per gallon in Thermal, California and as much as $3.59 in San Diego County. A couple of days ago i paid $2.48 per gallon for propane which I was totally surprised at because the price of gas has gone up so far and yet this really hasnt moved at all, at least yet.

As a noted before, unlike service stations, propane sellers do not go on a daily basis to change pricing. Many smaller sellers that only refill their bulk tank once or twice a year may hold a price well beyond any wholesale increase.
Our largest propane distibutor is right at $3.90 a gallon, but I can drive 5 miles north to a gas station with a bulk tank and we paid $2.65 a gallon.
I didn't mention a thing, but bought and ran like a thief. Bet that price goes up when he refills.

the propane exchange here is almost $20 for a small BBQ tank. that's $4.62 a gallon (propane is 4.32 lbs per gallon) so a $30 lb tank would cost me $32.08 to fill.

I spent $45 and made up a hose that I can fill mine up off of my bulk tank(500 gal.) 1 heck of a discount when you purchase 500 gal. at a time, allowing me to fill my tanks at 1/2 price

I filled both my propane tanks last Saturday for $48.00. Still high but not compared to some places around the US.

Just filled the 30# cylinder on Sun. $2.99 a gallon used 6.6 gal or $19.73.
At 4.2 #/gal that would be 27.72 gallons. So it was almost empty. But they are only filled to 80% capacity and a complete fill to the 80% level is only 24 gallons. Hmmmm?
