I replaced my generic 12v deep cycle RV batts with two Trojan 105 6v. After all the jokes(paper weights, etc.), is there some way to use these lower capacity but still good 12v in my RV either in conjunction with or separately from my Trojans?

If they are used with your new batteries they will pull down the new batteries.

Just recycle them at a battery center.

If you need the extra capacity, you could use them as a "switched" seperate bank, but otherwise get rid of them.

W/ the little jump starters nowdays, I don't even keep one around for a jumper anymore.

When I upgraded to Two US2200 GC batteries, I kept the Group 24 Deep Cycle battery as it was located in a separate compartment of the camper that was dedicated to the battery. I installed an A/B switch and now I keep the Group 24 as a spare in the rare event I run the GCs low. I also switch to this battery when towing the 5er as that is the battery that has the break-away switch wired to it.

Absolutely. You can parallel them to the new bank. Install a marine switch to control charge/discharge and to isolate the banks during storage. I like the Perko OFF/1/2/BOTH type switches.
