I have a Dometic refrigerator in my fiver. We turn it on a day or two before we're ready to load it up for a trip. It will cool down normally and will stay around 35 degrees for a couple of days. Then it will, all of a sudden, warm up to anywhere from 55 to 70 for a few hours. Then it will cool back down into the 30's for another couple of days. All while it is doing this, the freezer compartment stays around 15.
Has anyone had any experience with this kind of trouble?

you may try to use a fan inside it to keep the air circulation.most dont have this and this could be the result of it.

Sounds to me like one of two things:
1. Addition of enough non-precooled items to raise the temperature, or
2. Opening door often or long enough to expell the cooled air.
Since the freezer mantains its temperature and the refirgerator recovers from the higher temperatures, I suspect it is operator error and not an issue with the refrigerator itself.

I suspected similar, but tested it out this week. The fridge is empty. I turned it on Sunday night. Opened the door Monday morning 38 degrees. Opened the door Monday evening, 36 degrees. Opened the door Tuesday morning, 37 degrees. Opened the door Tuesday evening 68 degrees. Opened the door Wednesday morning, 35 degrees. Each time I checked the fridge, I checked the freezer and it was consistently 15 - 18. The doors were open for about 5 seconds each time.

Rv refers are not frost free like home units. They cycle like that to clear ice/frost off the cooling coils every few days. Your owners manual probably covers this.

Check for a loose connection on the thermister. The thermister is located on the metal fins of the refer. It has two small wires going to the circuit board in the exterior refer access.
It is possible that it is failing, but check for loose connections first.

I'd say its doing a defrost cycle. How long will it remain at 65? A few hours?
