Can I assume that in any class A with a washer-dryer you can run the unit (with propane and/or generator running) while rolling?
I realize there are theoretic concerns about the safety or driving with propane open, etc. but just wondering about whether we can wash and roll at the same time.

Just make sure your fresh water tank is full and the gray tank is large enough and empty before you start.

I haven't done it, yet!! We are taking summer trip to Alaska, so doing laundry along the way might leave us with more time to enjoy the sights and not be stuck doing "chores". Generator and enough fresh water in the tank, and an empty gray tank should do it. If you use the "express" cycle it uses 10 gal of h2o. Of course, mine shakes the whole coach on the spin cycle- so hold on to that steering wheel!!! Hopefully, someone with experience will answer you. Kathy

Many, if not most, motorhome washer dryers dry with AC electricity, not propane.
However, there may be a concern regarding movement underway and its effect of the washer drum.

I was advised not to run it while in motion. The reason was that if you hit a bump it could cause damage to the drum to be shifted suddenly.
So I don't.

IMHO: Because of the vehicle movement's possible adverse effect on the washer agitator or drum while the washer is operating, I personally wouldn't wash and roll. A washer full of water is alot of weight to start with and combine that weight with the effect's of vehicle movement and you have alot of force working there inside the washer drum.

I know a lot of people that do it ,Just make sure your gray tank is empty when you start and you will need to run your generator for power. It uses vary little water so the weight is not that great.

Total weight does not change from the fresh water to gray water tank hr (sorry I could not resist).
Some washer dryers run directly to the dump valve area and by pass the holding tank and the owners manual says the gray water valve must be open to use the washer. You can leave the gray valve open and the cap on and get by but shut it and have the sewer hose ready to catch the gray water when you hook up. A cap with the hose bib makes it easier.
The washer requires a 110 power source (generator) to work. Shutting off the propane while driving is overkill IMO. LP systems are designed to operate while in motion and some people need to use their propane generator. We propane and fuel are in approved containers and delivery systems.

We do it all the time. Since the washer only holds about 3 gallons of water I can't imagine the 24 pounds of water being any kind of problem. The book says it takes 15 gallons to do a regular load so make sure you have enough holding tank for the number of loads you plan to wash.

In some floorplans, the washer/dryer is behind a slide when the slide is in, thus making it inaccessible. One of the things we like about our floorplan is that we could use the washer/dryer while under way, but we never have.
