I have used ours while driving - that was 5 yrs ago and no apparent bad effects yet. We were in Alaska at the time, by the way. We were in a caravan and it helped that I didn't need the limited washers/dryers at our stops - left them free for those who did. I know how much water the gray tank holds so I would time it for the evenings we were to have sewers available.

Total weight does not change from the fresh water to gray water tank hr (sorry I could not resist).

Actually it does. It weights less because some of the water is retained in the clothes and the dryer evaporates it. SO when you transfer water from the fresh water tank to the grey water tank via the washer/dryer it weighs less.

Sorry could not pass that one up either.

If they don't have a dual water heater (a.c. and propane) they will want the propane on for hot water unless they have the system like winnies have that heat water thru the engine while it's running.

We've never used ours when moving since we live in the mountains; too many curves and ups and downs and speed variations to make it a "smooth" playing field for the washer.

The manual says not to as the drum is spring suspended (in the Splendide 2000's anyway) and if you hit a bump at the wrong time it permanently stretches them.
There has been at least one report of it happeing on the forum.

Point taken CPAfiver

BTY my youngest son is a CPA. He seems to think like you.
He just ordered an 09 Jayco Seneca full wall slide and is trading in is two year old 06 Seneca which is a three slide. It does not have a washer.

I know alot of people do this, but if you have a Splendide, look at the manual, it says not to do it for you could damage the machine..We haven't seen a need to do this..
