Earlier this year I was in an RV park when my neighbor took off for the day. He left his sewer flusher hose hooked up and his tank closed. Sometime while he was gone someone came and turned the hose on and flooded the inside of his rig with sewage. The tank continued to fill until the sewage also came out the vent stack onto the roof and over his awning. I turned it off maybe 10 minutes after the person turned the faucet on. He had a mess to clean up. I first thought it was kids but he thought it was an adult. A couple of days later after he disconnected his hoses someone came and turned the faucet on full blast flooding the area around the trailer. It didnt make any sense and I also felt it wasnt kids. I turned the faucet off the second time only minutes after whoever turned it on. My guess is one of our neighbors was trying to get even for something like maybe a loud stereo etc. There is really a lot greater chance you might make someone mad in a park because of the density than in a residential neighborhood.

Nasty. People can get sick from raw sewage, and not just the friends in the trailer, but anyone walking that sit for several days. This is NOT funny.

Can't excuse the first time ... but the second time might have been someone trying to "clean" up the campsite after the first sewage flood ... or atleast dilute the stink.

And, I have heard of faucets turning themselves on ... not full blast, but a little if the gasket or seat fails (or is in the process of failing)

A series of unfortunate events, no doubt. BUT leaving a hose connected to your black tank washer is just plain not wise. If a valve drips even a little it can fill the tank up and have the same results.

I always felt that when I rent a camp site, that it is the same as my property at home, and others should not invade it. But I guess that some people just can't leave others alone. Too bad some one couldn't have seen the person doing it.

But the OP said the tank was "closed" so how did sewage enter the tank, RV and go out the vent? This would only happen if the dump-valve was left in the "open" position.
I can see it with the grew water since most of us do leave that tank open when connected but sewage?

Apparently, the holding tank had sewage in it. By having the hose hooked up to the flush and the water turned ON, it filled up the holding tank.

If the valve had been left OPEN, it would have simply drained out into the campground's sewage facilities and probably not caused any damage to the RV itself.

That is, if I am reading the OP correctly.

If that was an act of retaliation, what a COWARD! If you have a beef with a fellow camper, chin up, chest out, and go greet them and discuss it. Many times fellow camper just lose their common sense when decompressing from the daily grind and don't realize the time, or their stereo is really carrying through the CG, etc.
