Another dealer that you might look at is Tiarra RV sales in Elkhart IN. Their website is http://www.tiararvsales.com/. They treated me well and with intergity during my look for a fifth wheel. If you like, you can contact me via private message and I can share more.

When I walk onto an RV lot looking at new rigs, the very first question I ask the sales person is do they own an RV and if so how often do they use it. If they answer to the negative, I ask to speak with a sales person who does own an RV and knows how it works.

Another dealer I would recommend is www.demartini.com. They do deal in used units and have dealerships both in Grass Valley, CA and Elkhart, Indiana.

Good luck

Hi, I was reading your post and can really feel your frustration. We ordered a new Monaco Dynasty last year at Lazy Days after visiting about 10 different dealers around Florida. It was a horrible experience, too. We visited Lazy Days on several occasions to narrow down what we really want and never ever had a bad experience. An exceptionally nice sales lady at lazydays, Joanne Heppe, took all day to show us almost everything available and gave us some great information. My height of 6'9" made it especially difficult to find what we were looking for. Despide the fact that we told her that we will be out for another 5 month before we buy, she did not hesitate to spend time with us. After we narrowed our search to a 40 - 45 Monaco Product, we visited many other dealers in Florida, and I would never buy an RV at any of those. One of them asked us if we would buy today, because if not, it would be better to come back when we are ready, because the inventory changes every week and it wouldn't do us any good looking at RV's today. The next one told us that he was out there 3 times today and this brutal heat and we should go by ourselves and come back if we found something nice. Another one wanted to sell us a used trade in 38'er, not listening to our requests at all. I could go on. Back at Lazy days, we saw Joanne again and she spend many more hours with us. If she didn't now the answer to out questions, she found out. Never feeled pressured and obviously we ordered our 09 Dynasty from her. Picked it up on April 10th and so far had no problems at all. Back at service last week, all our questions were answered, and we are so happy that we bought at Lazy Days. The Monaco People as well are outstanding. Hope that helps.

As I posted in your thread on the other site just down the road from the place in Hamburg is a dealership called Tom Sheaffers that didnt resort to shady sales tactics with us when were looking for a MH

the place in Hamburg's sole purpose is to prey on people coming to the area to shop at Cabelas

another place to avoid is the appropriately named Dicks RV Superstore(formerly Queenstown RV) in College Park MD

I did not buy the RV. I realize by sharing my tale that it appears I am queen of the fools, but I thought it was important to let other people know even if it is embarrassing. Thanks for the replies and if you know of a great RV dealer, I am still looking!

When we were looking at Boat & RV, they wanted to put is in 10000 GVW for an F150...uh hello. I could go on about the Hershey RV show the other year too but long story short. We had talked to the store general manager earlier at the show and explained the prior instance & the situation my brother had & why we weren't comfortable with dealing with them & the GM wanted to give us a good deal to restore our faith. Later while just looking through some larger trailers, one of their salesman was extremely rude when we told him we didn't need HIS services & we knew what we wanted. He didn't like that too much because he said "good thing we didn't need him because that rig is way out of your league". Yeah, don't need to deal with people like that period. We went right over to the other trailer we liked & bought from one of their local competitors....hehe

Sadly had you looked yourself on the forums regarding this outfit you probably would've saved yourself TONS of aggravation but you are right, that's why it's called hindsight & we all live & learn. I'm sorry you went through all that hassle & i hope you do find the MH you are looking for.

Someone mentioned Tom Schaeffers in Shoemakersville PA. Didn't buy from them but one service man talked to me for 5-10 mins on the phone. Saved both of us time & money to fix a very easy problem. Currently we have an issue with the frame. DH took it in the other day, they snapped some pics & are sending them to Reese & Crossroads to see what can be done. Easy & as nice as could be for us and like i said we didn't buy from them at all, but so far by the treatment we received, you would never know the difference between us & someone who did.
