I've discovered that I have the infamous cracked seals on my lower
Tuthill ball joints. Looking for repair shop recommendations from
anyone that may have had this work (and the associated chassis
alignment) performed in the Houston area. I understand that there is
a special tool required to remove the Tuthill joints. The only
recommendation from Spartan/Tuthill is in the Ft. Worth area.
I had my uppers and lowers replaced three months ago due to cracked rubber. Tuthill recommended a shop in Greenville SC to have them replaced and the frontend aligned. Seems like it set me back about $1500. I have the paperwork at home if you would like a exact price. I would recommend having all four done while they have it apart.
Have you tried Cummins Southern Plains in Houston? I haven't used them before, but am going to soon to do my 1 year service. Spartan lists them as an authorized service dealer.

Did you have the parts or did the shop supply all parts and labor? $1500 is a great price. Our local shops say $2500 is about the fair price for parts and labor.

Yep....CSP is not interested in doing this work. I've gotten hooked up with another shop in Houston that has the special tools and has done many of the Spartan chassis ball joint replacements (Jamial's Truck Service). Gotten a couple of recommendations on them, so far all good. Will post results after I get mine replaced.
