We prefer Ocean Lakes for the resort feel.

We like Ocean Lakes for the view and the beach. For solitude Briarcliff Resort is great.

I suppose i will be the different one here. We love Pirateland campground in Myrtle Beach. That is where we are going this summer. They have the largest lazy river out of all the campgrounds in myrtle beach

We're recent transplants to NC and I haven't been to the beach yet but I've had a couple people tell me to go here: Myrtle Beach Travel Park.

If you end up going, please give us a report.

Thanks!
Eric

We use MBTP when we are in town. The beach is nice. The CG is well maintained. They have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool with a lazy river. There is an area up by the lake that has shade if you don't want to be down by the beach in the unshaded sites. They restrict golf carts to the seasonal site owners. If you ever go to any other MB campground that allows anyone to rent golf carts you will know why that is is important. They recently rebuilt all of the bath houses down in the beach sites.

If it's listed in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn't be messing around with it.

We are looking for a ocean front campground in either North or South Carolina, something very close to the beach.

If you want the basics and the beach we like the Oregan Inlet campground at Oregan Inlet on the Outer Banks. You are parked at the foot of the sandunes, walk over them and you are on the beach. BUT, no hook-ups. We were there in late Jun several years ago and nights were cool and pleasant, so no a/c needed!

I second Holiday Trav-L Park in Emerald Isle, NC. I also guess it depends on what kind of beach that you want to go to. Emerald Isle doesn't have the shows, theme parks and shopping like Myrtle offers, but if you want a serene area with lots of state and national parks nearby, then it's the area for you. Within 5 miles you have Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro. Within 20-30 miles, you have Ft. Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach and Cape Lookout National Seashore. The area is a kayaker's dream. I also like to beach a boat on Shackleford Banks and watch the wild ponies as the saunter by.
