Hello-
We will be traveling across Ontario this June and are looking for overnight parking somewhere between London and Hamilton. Free is great!

If you don't want WalMart there are other options.

Little Austria Family Campground, Burford, Ont. Just off Hwy 403 by Brantford http://www.campgrounds.org/index.cfm?member=519-449-5612
Willow Lake Park, Woodstock, Ont. North of 403.http://www.willowlakepark.on.ca/location_files/location.htm

Have not stayed in either so have no first hand information for you.

I'd take the Flying J near London. New, big, clean, usually stop in there for gas heading home from the Pinery.

There are also the Canadian equivilant of rest stops every fify miles or so along the 401.
Plenty of big rig parking and resturants, fuel etc.

The Brantford Wal*Mart is beside Brantford Mall most of which is being demolished and construction of new stores is hot 'n heavy. I'd pass this one up. The Ancaster one could be a good one and basically just outside Hamilton before you go down the Niagara Escarpment. The Stoney Creek job is way off your line of travel.

The first is basically a small RV park and doesn't really cater to on-the-road folks. Willow Lake could be better choice, as could be Pittock Lake Conservation Area. I'd go for the latter over the former.

I'd suggest Brant Park Conservation Area but you have to wiggle your way around and through the city to get there. Easier to get to but off your line of travel is Pinehurst Conservation Area north of Paris. It's the best of the lot for all the right reasons but some distance from the 403.

If W.M. or Flying J does not suit you, Valens Conservation Area near Cambridge is
another possibility. It is roughly half way between London & Hamilton - nice park with large wooded sites - lake, hiking trails etc. It is operated by Hamilton Region Cons. Auth.
