Two years since we've used our 5th wheel. One of the real problems besides my DW's health is the climb to the inside. I remember when I had a TT years ago, there was only one step up to get inside it. Now I see that most have two and maybe three before you are to the inside of the TT or 5th. Does any have a newer TT that has only ONE step up or maybe just TWO? It would make RVing life a lot easier for the DW if I could find one. Maybe a picture along with your answer would help too.

Bought my trailer a Kodiak by Skamper 27CDSL precisely because of the floor plan we liked that a lot of other trailers had similarly but this trailer is only one step. I am reasonably active, no stiff knees, but I still thoroughly enjoy the freedom to go in and out of the trailer so easily. When cooking outside there are numerous trips in coordinating the meal and I really appreciated the one step. My previous experience was a motorhome that had four steps. It really got old going up and down.
I see all sorts of older folks that otherwise can't go up and down steps in these 5 step fifth wheels and no wonder somehow they just don't enjoy the trip like they want to because of those steps. My two cents.

look more at TT's with no or the small slide. that seems to be what adds the heigth/stairs. my 2nd TT had no slide-1 step. 3rd had a single super slide-2 steps and this one has 2 slides and 3 steps. BIL had a trail lite with the small couch slide and 1 step.
can't rem the brand but know there are some with a good sized slide(dinette/couch) but both are raised up but the TT sits lower and has a single/double step.
they are out there, best bet are the shows-where i've seen them

My wife uses a PetStep ramp, as stairs are really hard for her. It works great. PM me if you want more info.

Frank...The Sunline Advancers were made with easily accessable tubs, ramp/lifts, wide doors, etc. Here is one you can look at. They are still available used. HERE

This is one of the reasons we have the Trailmanor.
The longer a trailer is, the higher off the ground it must be in order to not drag in driveways.
Our trailer is 27 feet long when open but only 20 feet long when towing. It is also a single axle.
We have two steps, but they are short steps. The critical issue for my wife is not how many steps but how high is the floor from the ground. If the floor of the trailer is higher than her knee then it is going to be a big issue for her.
Look at short single axle trailers.

Most non slide trailers have one step. Look at some of the Northwood products ( Nash, Artic Fox) Any Sunline without slide will have one step. I'm sure there are others.
