My Gulfstream only has one step. But its a big one, depending on how the trailer is setting. I think that it would be better with two. I think the answer to your problems will come in the form of some sort of ramp. Best of luck in finding a solution.

javaseuf is onto something--that is what I would suggest. My TT sits very low to the ground--I've been debating whether to flip the axles or not for MORE ground clearance. The exact opposite of what you want.
The problem with any steps is camping on uneven surfaces. What was a 2" step can become a 8" step after leveling.
A lift device or a ramp is a very inexpensive alternative to buying a new RV.

I have the CW folding platform so the first step would be wide and steady. It is the three step climb that sometimes gets her. One with a single or double would be okay because the platform would make up one of them. I will look into the models mentioned so far. Thank you all.
