We are headed to Disney and plan on leaving on a Friday and we check in at Disney on Sunday. Where along the way should be stay? We plan to drive at least 5-6 hours on Friday night and we may stay at the same place on Saturday night and then continue the drive to Disney.
DH would like to stay at the beach in Florida on the way there or the way back also for a night or two. Any suggestions?
We are leaving from Maryland and this will be our first that is this far away.

we have done this trip several times. We usually stop in Fayetteville, NC. It is about 6 hours. There is a nice KOA there and we get a big site so that we don't even unhook the from the camper. It is right off 95 also, so it makes it easy.
We have camped at Fort Wilderness 2 times and it is the best campground we have ever been to. You will have so much fun!!!! We are doing Myrtle beach this year but next summer we will be back to Disney.
Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions.

Thanks! We have heard great things about the campground there and are really looking forward to it. Not having to unhook would be great to if we just stay Friday night.
I know I want to stop at south of the border because as a kid my parents always stopped there with us LOL. I heard that had a campground there but a couple of people have told me that it's not a good idea to stay there?

The trailer life reviews for that campground are not good at all. We have never stopped there because my husband is always on a mission when we set out for a trip. there is no stopping unless it is to eat or use the bathroom

For this trip I wanted to fly! But DH wants to stop along the way there and on the way back. Almost 14 hours of driving or 2 hours to fly. 2 hours sounds better to me LOL

We are leaving for Disney Ft Wilderness on Saturday for 9 days. We will be in a Green bottom Beaver Patriot. Will stop and say hi if we see you if you tell us how to tell who you are.
Do not know how far but Exit 49 in GA has Inland Harbor RV park which is all pull through's. Also has outlet shops and restaurants. If you can get this far the second day will be easy and you will get to Disney at a reasonable hour. Farther North is Point South, SC with a reasonable overnight KOA which also has pull through's,
Beach: near your route is Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort, SC. Nice beach and good size light house.
Headed to Williamstown NJ with my son to pick up his new motorhome (end of July) so any DC Baltimore route suggestions will be welcome

With the price of gas the way it is, it probably isn't that much more to fly. But you will definitely save money on your lodging. It is so expensive to stay in the hotels. So i guess you can look at it that way.
