All of our cats have had some food fettish or another.
Our last house cat, Samson, loved to crunch ice cubes (after he played with them of course) and ate saltine crackers!! He and Tupid Kitty could smell a tuna can a mile away and would be underfoot squalling BEFORE you cracked the lid!!! If you dared not give them the can to 'clean' we'd find the cabinet that contains the garbage can open and the cats IN the trash with their prize!!

Our late German Shepherd named Sheiba would catch bees in her mouth spit them on the ground and then roll them with her paw, I guess too get the stinger detached, she would then pick them up and eat them, our other 2 dogs a shepherd, and a Yorkie would watch in fascination and soon learned to jump on them when Sheiba was done rolling them on the ground we could watch them do this for hours when boondocking. They would P**P yellow for a week when we got home.

We had a Golden Retriever, Jake, that would love to eat table scraps, BUT, anything green, green peas, cabbage, etc. would be left on the plate. How did he know?

CatandJim, I'd love to see a picture of Benson with tomato juice on his face.

............

This isn't the one I was thinking of, but it's only one I have hosted online. I'll look in my pictures and see if I can find the other one. I hope I loaded it after the computer crash.

This is Benson enjoying a tomato that he jumped on the counter to get and had thoroughly licked. So I gave in and let him enjoy it a minute or two.

Gosh I miss that cat! Talk about an animal FULL of personality... that was our Benson. I think he was a comedian in his previous life.

I have a gray tabby cat (Daphne), that loves Watermelon. When I buy one and cut it, she comes running, and waits patiently while I smash some, with juice, in a dish for her. Weird but, she eats it all.

That is too funny! Good story!

Several years ago I had a female Cocker Spaniel that would go crazy for cheese curls, but only when she was pregnant. Try to give her one any other time and she would turn her nose up and walk off. We always knew if her breeding took by whether or not she would eat the cheese curls. Guess it was a pregnancy craving.

Neat thread.

When I get to heaven,
I shall see three wonders there.
The first wonder will be to see
many there whom I did not expect to see.
the second wonder will be to miss
many people who I did expect to see.
and the third and greatest of all
will be to find myself there.

Darn I haven't found the one I remember....Benson was caught red faced that day! He had found the tomatoes in the bowl on top of the microwave where I thought they were well hidden. He sure had his nose stuck in that one! LOL I guess it was uploaded from my camera before the great computer crash of February '07.
