Are there any places in Florida where you can boondock (without getting in trouble)?

There are many developed CG's w/o hookups in the National Forests/Park in Florida, as for legit boondocking opportunities there may not be many, at least that I know of, unless you know the property owners. There is still much undeveloped land in the interior away from the metro areas.

I've stayed in Walmarts etc overnight while in West Fla. They are a lot more rv friendly in western Fla than in eastern Fla.

Just cruise-around and eye-ball a good location. BDin'-it in FL has been my favorite state. From the west and east coast ..and even in da' Keys !
It is a "science" and a challenge ... and a heckeva' savings. If you are gone RVin' for a month ..... at 40$ per nite .... that is 1200$ ...that STAYS in your pocket.
WHO the heck needs a CG and all their hookups IF you are totally self-contained?

I have seen people camping at the Flying J, but don't understand when days later they are still there sitting in their lawn chairs. Just makes me scratch my head and wonder.
I always thought J's and truck stops in general were just for catching a wink. Not a vacation destination. Go figure.

I've heard that you can boondock in the Everglades National Park, I haven't been there myself so I don't really know.
All in all I have found Florida to NOT be very RV friendly. There is a large contingent of organizations and individuals that want you to spend large amounts of money in order to visit the "Sunshine State". They have a tourist dependant economy that doesn't stay afloat if you aren't paying big bucks.
