If you are putting on standard Lippert parts, how would anybody know that it was ever repaired, to void any warranty? Unless you install them incorrectly. Does not sound like it would be too difficult, to do it right.

Update:

OK - I received the part today from Lippert. Put the 5ver on the truck and removed the old part. 2 bolts and 2 screws. I did not need to hitch up, but I did just in case. 15 minutes later, I was done. But - there is still about 1/16th of an inch of play on the plastic studs that hold it in place and I can see over time, the same thing will happen. At least now I can keep an eye out.

Thanks for the help.

Lets see, 180 miles one way, 360 round trip, roughly 10 mpg = 36 gal. times $4.50/gal. = $162 plus 6 hours driving time! It seems remotely possible that moloyelo may know what he's doing.

My thoughts exactly....plus, the dealer will probably say...."in two weeks....."

PLUS...it is a great sense of a achievement to do it yourself....even of you screw up at first and learn along the way!!!

"...there is still about 1/16th of an inch of play on the plastic studs that hold it in place..."

Could/should you try to put a shim in there to take that play out???
