I camp with friends more often than we camp alone. Biggest group was 11 people in four rigs to Yellowstone. It's been a good way for us to get together with other very busy long time friends and have some quality time together.

This will be a good non answer. We just got back from the Georgia RVer rally this Tuesday. We had a great time with the group, but when everyone left on Sunday, we had a great time being by ourselves. We just enjoy camping so it does not matter.

Interesting question,
Nice to know how other people think
We started camping with my sister and her family years ago
Then they went to a permanent sight and have stayed there
So we started camping alone again
We met so many people to talk to and have made some very, very good friends along the way.
We still go alone sometimes but most often these days we go with another couple who seem to enjoy our company as much as we enjoy theirs.
As far as "What do you care what other people do"
This is a forum to get answers and ask questions.
If you are curious? Ask...
Why do I care? I guess I just do.

Done both and liked both. Sadly, my BIL passed and my sister no longer camps. In the summer, we had a group of 13 families that stayed at a state park together. Not to say I'm getting to be an old **** but we're down to only 6 now. Doesn't stop us from having fun though. The good part is I gained a son in law from this group. Watched him grow up and turn into a fine young man.

All alone. No one else wants to go until after I went and they find out I was gone.

Neither. Prefer to go 'just us two' but do enjoy meeting other campers and seeing the regulars.

I really prefer going with just my wife or with our kids, who are grown. Many times some close friends go along and that is fine, but I get more rest with just my wife. Ilove her and it is a great time to just be with her.

My wife and I laugh all the time (between each other) that the only friends we have are each other. It's really true. My first wife and I were like social butterflies. I was on so many corporate, state and local boards that I had meetings of one kind or another nearly every night, and we both had high profile jobs, so we knew a lot of people and had a lot of friends.

We split. I now have a lower profile job as does my new wife; I've dropped out of ALL my old organizations; quit golfing.... I mean we really hibernate when we can. The best is when we go camping where there's no cell phone signal.

We enjoy talking to people, and we're probably friendlier than most folks you'd meet, but we prefer camping alone. We'll go with family members now and then, but for the most part we just like to go hide out by ourselves.

How you camp is probably how you are in life I'd guess. I know it is for me. We have a few close friends but none camp/rv so we do it as a family of 3. I sometimes envy those who camp in groups but also know there are drawbacks to that too. Whatever works for you.
