It depends! We 59 (DW) and 65(me). Grown daughter and 22 month grand daughter live alone. Son and daughter inlaw have 3 boys.Son and family have 5ver. Wife babysits several chidren all day. There is times when we want to camp alone, sometimes we take just DD and GD with us and sometimes both campers and the whole crew.Only thing I won't stand for is DS and DI boarding themselves up in the 5ver expecting us to watch the kids. Oh yes sometimes we take only the boys with us but if the parents are there it's their job to watch the boys!Haven't camped with friends yet.
I'm a loner so I go by myself whether it's to the local state park or weeks in the back country with the backpack.
I find it curious that so many people want to do something or wish they had when you get back however when given the opportunity, they back out, complain or are miserable the whole time. There are exceptions however the good ones are almost impossible to find nowadays.
Then there's Adventure Wanderlust. For no reason, you suddenly decide to go, brake release is in 20 minutes, you don't even know which way you'll turn going out of the RV park, no clue when or even if you'll return. The only way to do trips like that is solo.
We have always gone with a group of friends. Now that we have a new TT, I'm trying to talk DH into short trips locally, just for weekends. So, while I'd prefer just him and I, he wants the group.
We belong to a club that meets once a month that we really enjoy. It's a nice group and you can get as involved as much or as little as you wish. The rest of the time we solo which gives us our quiet time the we enjoy just as much.

We usually go alone. Its tough to find people our age and/or in our stage of life who are into RVing(20's, no kids and we don't spend ALL weekend drunk). we wouldn't mind meeting up with others but the closest match to us so far have been my inlaws.
