While I was out last weekend I came across a situation with my electrical hook up. Shortly into our trip I had fired up the microwave when my the power to the microwave stopped and the volemeter on the AC power went to ZERO. I thought, okay I've popped a circuit, NOPE, nothing, HUMMMMMM. Power came back up and I thought maybe the cord was loose so I check all around and everything appeared to be hooked up as it should be. AH, HA, no breakers popped, everything hooked as it should be MUST be one of those bad sites I hear so much about... Yea, that's it. I saught out the host and they commented that the FULL TIME maintenance guy at the park had actually been around the day before and tested all the sites and that mine was reported as working. HUMMMM, now what.
We'll to cut to the chase the maintenance guy came over and we looked at the hook up, all checked out but we discovered the prongs were a bit loose on the male end of my shore power cord and when I actually torqued it a bit and held it tight everything worked well. Ended up putting the 30 to 20 adaptor on and it held the prongs tight and in place and electrical worked fine the rest of the weekend.
NOW, before I go out and buy a new male plug, cut off the old plug and hook up the one should I try it again at my next spot as maybe the 30a outlet was the culprit at the last site? If I do and its still a problem would you actually spring for a new shore power cord or fix it by buying a new plug for the end?

First, take a very good look at things.
If the plug on your cord has bent prongs, yes, install a new plug.
If the receptacle has burned or loose contacts down in the slots, the receptacle is the problem.
I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

Brad - I bet half of the receptacles (30A) I see are crispy at the mating end. Just for saftey sake, I wiggle it a bit while techno-wife watches the voltmeter, when we hook up. So far, have had no probs, but - I'm sure eventually I'll wiggle my 30A plug and the receptacle will disintegrate. Watch - the park owner will say it's my fault!!

30 amp are the most commonly used and often are loose or have shown signs of arcing. I usually inspect and if the 30 amp looks suspect or my end does not engage firmly, I plug into the 50 amp with my adapter.

I agree with Charlie D. That is what I do, I also carry a extra 30 amp plug, you can get them at Wally World. Look at yours and see if the plastic or rubber is bubbly looking by the pins. If it is change it. But get a spare for next time, at the price of fuel it is cheaper to carry one than go hunting one.
