Did the original awning Pilgrim installed interfere with the door??? If not, they lived up to their obligation, and quality control. They manufactured the trailer based on the equipment they supply with it. No way can they anticipate what may be installed post OEM.
Now for the dealer, they should know the clearances needed for the electric awning. And I would bet the installation instructions make note of door clearance.
Dealer error if not installed correctly. They should repair, at no cost to you. And fill the original holes. They'll probably just stuff some of those plastic plugs in them. And tell you if you ever want to go back to the manual awning, all you need to do is pull out the plugs, to install the rail.

The dealer is Kitsmiller in Mason MI and they have been outright rude to me making me feel like an idiot for complaining about it. Their initial attempt at installation they did not install the wind sensor and I found it under neath in a box along with the remote switch that goes inside. Had to go back again to get the rain sensor installed and they still forgot to install the remote switch. I ended up doing that myself.

The dealer is supposed to be the manufacture's representative. He should fix all problems and work it out with the manufacture. He needs customer satisfaction or he's out of business.

OK I found the installation instructions for the power awning and it should be mounted a minimum of 12 3/4" above the door frame and add another 2" if the door falls in the center, which it does. I measured it and the awning was mounted 9 1/2" above the door by my dealer. That makes it almost 5" too low! I wrote the CEO/Owner of the dealer a letter so we will see what happens from here. Clearly a gross error on the dealer's part. More to follow...

If you find Ron (the owner) he has always been a good person to work with. I would politely show him the mounting instructions and explain the problem and the lack of concern from his employees. If he is the same person and his success over the last few years hasen't gone to his head, I would think he would make sure it is done right.

Apparently his success has gone to his head. I wrote a detailed two page letter to him over one month ago. Unfortunately he, or his staff, never even took the time to respond. Also after I initially posted this I was also told by another RV dealer in Georgia the hitch that was installed by Kitsmiller is too small for my fiver as it is very overloaded and I confrirmed this with Reese directly. I think this is all due to the great deal I negotiated up front and they just don't care about customer service in my case. We all have a choice of RV dealers in Michigan and I personally will never give this place my business ever again.

It sounds like they aren't concerned about customer safety either!!!
