Has anyone applied the Diamond-Fusion Rock Chip windshield protection on their coach windshield? The advertisement says it creates a surface more resistant to chipping and pitting. If you have used it, how easy was it to apply and are you satisfied with the result? Web site for information on this product is www.diamond-fusion.info.

This will be an interesting thread to follow. I replace my windshield in April. I did a search on Diamond Fusion and the final outcome was questionable. The topic was covered on various threads, mostly having to do with vehicles and repair shops.
If someone has put it on, how do we know if it works or they have just been lucky?

The problem I see with it is it will wear like the front end protection which is not good. After about five years or so this stuff is pretty scratched up and needing removed with a window you don't have to worry about the paint coming off but it could still be a hassle. I know if I get mine off the front I may not go back with it. I have had the vynil bra and none on different coaches I remember very few chips without any protection and everyone I am hearing from that gets this stuff off has to repaint and I believe that is what we are trying to avoid. So why have the added cost of the film on there too up wardss of about $1200 plus paint.

escaper, I think you are talking about Diamond Shield front end cover.
The OP is about Diamond Fusion, a glass treatment. It looks interesting but there was a thread here last week where someone that had it got a rock chip and called when they got back from their trip and were denied coverage because you have to call in a claim within 48 hours. Well THAT would peeve me off!! I thought the rain handling would be nice but I don't think it is worth the cost. Maybe if I drove more.
Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing plaids with stripes comes easy.

Installation has to be done by a company rep, there is no do it at home installation. I have seen it applied and it is expensive just for some guy to rub some liquid on.
As said, if you do get a chip/crack in the windshield and do not notify the company within 24 hours, they will not honor the claim.
I think I will pass.

I had this treatment applied to my last two motor homes. The first one I never had to use it, however we recently purchased a new 40' DP and had the treatment applied. On our first long trip we had a rock hit our windshield and crack it. When we returned two days latter I called to make a claim and was informed that they would not pay the claim because I had not called them WITH IN 24 HOURS. And sure enough in the fine print on the back of the policy it does state that one must call within 24 hours after the incident or the policy will not be honored. But The man who answered thr phone suggested I get the treatment again after I put the new windshield in and I would be covered for the new windshields. I told him that I would only be ripped off once and I would never recommend their service. A new windshield for My Rig is 2750 dollars. I called my insurance company and the Windshield is covered under comprehension. My deductible is 500 dollars. Talked to the glass shop who is replacing my windshield and he says that he has never had a claim that was covered under Diamon Shield that paid off. The Bottom line is that it is very expensive, I paid over 800 for the policy and I would recommend that anyone be very careful when considering buying Diamon Shield. As far as I am concerned it is a rip off that the RV DEALERS push because they must get a pretty big commission from selling this useless policy.

In the case of Diamond Shield, it better be within the hour

Here is a video on Diamon Fusion, the glass treatment. CLICKY LINK
Diamond Shield is the clear film installed on the front of cars and RVs to protect the paint. I have that and I am very satisfied with it.
