Actually sometimes cash can be a negative. Some dealers get a kick back if they get you use their financing. I always make my deal, let them fill out the loan work with the price, then tell them I'm paying cash. Also look at some of the deals, If you can get 0% financing or even 2.9% you may be better off letting your money work for you. JMHO
When I bought my Ram last year, getting all the discounts required me to finance the truck. Like was mentioned, after making sure there wasn't a pre-payment penalty I financed the truck and wrote a check to BECU the next day.
If you get a quote from Dave Smith,be sure and talk to the guys at Dwayne Lanes in Everett. I took Dave Smith's quote to them and they actually gave me a better deal than DS did.
They said they were tired of losing business to DS and had become much more competitive in the last couple years.
When my dad bought his truck,he did the same thing. He got a quote from DS and then Dwayne Lane did what they needed to do to earn a customer.
If you want to know the salesman we both used let me know.
I just bought a 2007 Dodge 3500 MegaCab 4x2 6.7L diesel. It was a 2007 that they had left over. It came with the 4.10 gears, limited slip and the nav system. Your best bet is to find a 2007 on the lot and they are out there. I got a huge discount becasue they wanted to sell it. MSRP was a little over 49,700 and I got it out the door with taxes, registration and a Line-X spray on bed liner for 35,200. I'm in California and sales tax is 8% plus DMV fees were 575.00

As others here have said, don't talk cash til you have the deal you are comfortable with, then you can do the financing route then pay it off,I thought the finance guy was going to cry when I told him we would just pay cash. They lose the kickback then.
Agree with the 0 percent financing, but sometimes it is one or the other,0 percent or rebate.
Remember, they need you not the other way around!
Another point, you can find out their cost,or close to it,just google the dealer price, they have to make a profit, but there is no need for you to send there kid to college..
I offered $300 over invoice and they took it.We were both satisfied
Good Luck with your search/dealings

Even 300 over invoice they are still making more than 300 dollars... they get other monies from the manufacture.
when I bought my titan they were telling me, (I know the sales guy) that nissan gives X amount of money (cant remember how much) Every month the truck sits there a amount comes off that money they would get.. so its to their advantage to sell it faster..
Im sure other manufactures have similar or other deals..

invoice ?? Which invoice. A dealer has their own invoice that they may/can add to it. Make sure the invoice is the factory invoice pricing. Many Dodge dealers will sell factory invoice either cash or financing. See meltonsales.com web for price comparisons.

Was looking at a left over 2007 QC CTD auto 4X4 3500 bed liner/loaded with aluminum wheels side steps etc. Windowed at $47k+ selling for $32154. Was ready/willing to make the deal with $4500 cash from me and they only wanted to give me $15K for my loaded SLT 4X4 auto 2005 QC CTD. Guess what I'm still driving? Kelly BB was $19K for my truck on a trade in.
