Anyone have any thoughts as to what would have changed to either AC or Honda that causes the Honda not to start the AC. Up until now all has been well.

You are sure the fridge is not on automatic or the battery is not low and taking some of the power?

The big loads with which I am familiar are the 120VAC/12VDC convertor and the fridge on 120VAC mode. This assumes nothing else is plugged in. I found I had to make sure both of these are off before trying to start the AC on the EU2000i, though it didn't help as much as I had hoped.

If it's been a while, you may want to run the AC on shore power to "loosen" it up. Mine did not run so smoothly at first after the winter break.

And I have seen the my AC compressor in stall mode, and the Honda is helpless to deal with that. Again, I needed shore power to "kick it over."

Geez, I should dump this useless 100 lbs from the roof after all.

All loads in the TC were off and the battery was switched off and I had run the AC on shore power for a few hours. I do need to use the hydrometer to check the battery to be sure of charge but the TC has been plugged in for a week. The battery is getting up there in years so I might take the new one from my boat to see if that has any effect. More info after I have done those things.

What is AC stall mode?

OK, just one more mechanical/electrical thing to ponder. Went out and gave the Honda another try today and lo and behold, all works well. All I can figure is running on shore power for a few hours yesterday and sitting overnight got things loose enough to run. The AC had not been on for a number of months. The Honda does sound like it is working harder than I remember but I'll give it a field conditions test as it is hot today and I have a full tank of gas.

Thanks for the help you all. I also read about a soft start kit from Camping World, anyone know about that?

Edit, Honda shut down after about a half hour and am now back to the orginal problem.

The hotter it is outside the higher the head pressure will be and the harder the a/c will be to start/restart.

Hotter= harder to start. Yup that fits in with how this is going, I'll give it a try after it has cooled off this evening.

Test the Honda with an 1875 watt hairdryer.

I had trouble starting my tc AC with the Honda 2000ie the second year I had it. A friend told me to letthe Honda warm up for about five or ten minutes then turn on the ac. I did it and it starts the ac and keeps going. So I now warm it up for several minutes before turning on the AC.
