The Yukon gov't has an excellent resource/guide titled, Yukon's Wildlife Viewing Guide along Major Highways, downloadable at
http://environmentyukon.gov.yk.ca/pdf/wvguideeng.pdf

There are numerous other publications of interest on this page:
http://www.tc.gov.yk.ca/490.html. The "walking tours" brochures posted here provide great info about historical sites/sights. For instance, the South Dawson City Walking Tour or Viewing Yukon Railway Heritage.

There's another interesting Yukon gov't website, Sights and Sites - Yukon Point of Interest Signage, that provides additional info of roadside points of interest.

Can't forget the Travel Yukon site either!

And, of course, Yukon's Travel Report. Note that Yukon gov't campgrounds are now open!

G'day Sue,

Good sites, thanks for passing them on, a lot of folks should get a lot of info from these. Seems like the price of fuel has not kept people home. Just returned from a whirlwind trip Courtenay-Portland-Rtn to pick up a TC with my son, I-5 N was loaded with MHs.

Ted, we saw a lot of folk getting a head start on our long weekend and heading up-Island Thursday night -- campers, MHs, fivers, boats, etc. We're staying home doing some finetuning on our new-to-us fiver in preparation of our departure in mid-June for Yukon. We'll go out next weekend for our final road test before getting it packed to go. The campgrounds won't be so busy!

Meanwhile, I'm getting my "documentation" in my binder of particular spots we want to see while in Yukon this year. Thus these sites! We haven't been to Mayo or Keno yet, and haven't ventured south from the Alaska Hwy to Atlin either. We also plan drive to Eagle, AK. And I think DH wants to try the fishing in the Tatchun area.

After this trip, we'll have officially driven every highway in the Yukon, and many of the sideroads. Don't know what we'll do next year ...

On the contrary. You must not have visited the Arizona mountains.
