No bottle-neck at your house!
All you gotta do now is find servers that can stream at those speeds.

The fiber guys must have scared Comcast. Nothing like your speed but another doubling of speed since the last time I checked here in the People's Republic of Cambridge. Just basic cable internet for me---I think they offer higher speeds for double your cost.

And I think I'd vote for the Presidential candidate who promised to get us the average 60 meg service at $20/month that South Korea and Japan enjoy today....

I have a little over 1 MBS with AT&T DSL. Fiberoptic service is available from Verizon for a little more money, but with the inconvenience of changing email addresses. My question is how much actual speed on the internet you realize with a much faster ISP? In other words how fast are all of those servers for the websites?

jimwalker@gmail.com or similar will take care of having to change email addresses in the future. I've used it for years and have done away with darn near all my "other" email addresses. I "am" partial based upon performance of gmail though.

That is good.....this is awesome!

"Sigbritt Löthberg, a 75-year old woman from Karlstad in central Sweden has made IT history. Her home is now connected to the Internet by a 40 Gbit/second pipe. Yes, this is 5 GB/second. So, in theory, a DVD would take less than a second to download. Or, put another way, it could hold 1500 simultaneous full HD streams.

The woman is the mother of Peter Löthberg. Peter is a famous network technician, and works for Cisco...." Link (ran across this when doing some research for work about a month ago....can't wait until this is the norm....)

It's probably wayyy overkill for my use - email, this place, general surfing. The most work I'd ever ask it to do it upload photos.

I just got a Vista update of 500 meg in.. oh, 3 seconds.

Edit: What it's really good for is google maps satellite view. There's zero waiting for any map movement.

So it looks like the City of Ephrata is subsidizing the internet. How come?
