Just paid $60 for a sevice call to fix the air conditioner. Found out that letting the rig sit for a while may cause the fan on the air conditioner stick. 101 in Medford, OR and no air conditioner. The teck went to the roof stuck a rod through the air coditioner cover spun the fan and I again had air conditioned air. I also learned a lesson--run the air conditioner when I do my monthly generator run.

I have to break mine free every spring.
Is this something ony Dometic's suffer from? I never had to do this with any other RV I had.

Very possible the bearings are either a little tight or going bad.

Not sure of yours but many motors have oil ports. Remove a small plug and put in some turbin oil. For $60.00, the tech should have pulled the shroud and checked to see if he could have oiled it.

Its possible with any brand, fan motors are low torque motors, and dont have much power when first starting, like an air compressor would have, so it doesnt take much to keep it from turning after sitting for a winter, once its up to speed its efficient and powerful, and the barrings will lube themselve and your good to go.
Its a good idea to run your AC in the winter unless its buried in snow, if it is, be prepared to help it get started the first time in the spring.

Mine was frozen solid this year. It took real effort to break it loose and had a rough feel as I kept turning it. It finally loosened up ok with the application of some oil. I cant imagine it has bad bearings, it hasn't run more than 3 hours in its whole miserable life.

One bearing killer is vibration. The bearings can have flats hammered on them from the RV traveling down the road bumping and shaking away like always.

I think most of these condenser fan motors that don't start are on their way to failure. In most cases the bearings or bushings aren't easily replaceable and the whole motor is a throwaway.

All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

A large guy that camped next to us our 2nd time out this year asked if we had a Dometic A/C because every year he has his small neighbor kid go up and pull cover, oil, spin fan and put cover back on because it locks up,never had that problem with my other TTs,and hardly ever use the A/c,we"ll run it a couple times a season just to keep everything working,at least I have a walk on roof.

I believe the manual will tell you to run the unit even during winter. I run the generator and both heat pumps at least once a month. Start the gen, turn one heat pump to heat, the other to cool and let them run. I even run my Jeeps air con in the winter for the same reason, the Honda runs the air con when you use the defroster. Better to run an electrical appliance than let it sit.
In the stick house I had the heat pump fan set to only come on when the heat/cooling was needed. Blower motor went out in a couple years. New one I set to run ALL the time, it lasted 16 years and it was just a cheap bushing bearing motor. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to try and "save" the unit. Use and enjoy it.

Like the car air conditioners of old, I think running the trailers AC
every so often is a good thing to do all thru the year.
