I have just puchased a 2004 Dolphin lx motorhome. I want to put an electric brake controller on it for my trailer, but am having trouble finding the plug for it under the dash anywhere. Has anyone else installed a controller and is this coach pre wired for it?

I am sure this varies from coach to coach but I know mine did not have a plug under the dash. My Dealer installed mine and they had to tap into the wired under the dash. Their first attempt did not work. Took it back and the corrected it at their expence. Works perfect now. It would probably be worth it to take it to your dealer if they are good. If not, with out a good wireing diagram for under your dash, it may be tough.
Do you have a trailer hookup in the back? Look under and see if you have a wire going to the brake pin. If so, look at its color, usually blue. This should go up front to where your controller would be under the dash. Next you will need to locate the brake sensor wire, then lastly a hot wire and ground. On my Ford, the brake sensor wire was red but there is really no standard for these wires. The only one I have found to be consistent over the years is the blue wire but with RVs, all bets are off.

Good luck.

What kind of chassis is it?

We also have a 2004 Dolphin that we bought used. It had a controller installed by the previous owner. It was hard wired into the system, there was no plug specifically for the controller. They also had to run a wire (10 gauge)to the rear of the MH for the plug. Hopefully your controller has installation instructions.
