I agree, ford has pretty much went downhill since the 7.3. Jury still out on the 6.4. 6.0 well documended problems, You hear I got 50 or 60 thousand no problems, thats not many miles for a diesel
Either I have a lucky rabbits foot or a 4 leaf clover. Yes I have the dreaded oil leak. Ford replaced the orig motor at 32k miles. Still leaks or should I say stains the bell housing. Lost 3 injectors and a EGR valve. Crossover pipe had small leak. Guess this isn't too bad for 5 years. Truck now has 94k miles (62k on current motor) and she still runs like a top and pulls very well. Banks exhaust helps. I'd like to up grade to the new 6.4, but the banker (DW) probly won't let me, plus none of my current aftermarket accy's will fit. So to say the least, I'm still very satisfied with her and she looks good for being 5 years old with 94,000 + miles.

Coming from a previous 6.0L owner and now a 6.4L, you can't compare the two trucks. Yup, they dropped the ball on the 6.0L but in my mind that alone was reason enough to buy into the 6.4L. Neither Ford or Navistar could afford another botch up. Mines been great and I have yet to run into another owner that had anything bad to say. FWIW, the other two are having their share of problems. It is their first crack at any sort of emission control. Ford has had them since 03' (minus DPF).
