raise the antenna, switch on the booster (as others have said)(if you have a booster), "scan" for channels on the converter box. If none, or just a few, rotate your antenna a little bit (said 25 degrees), scan again ... kinda like fishin' ... you don't know exactly what you are going to get.
Keep rotating the antenna ... and re-scanning. You'll find some stations. I'm sure of it.

Thanks for all the info. Our home box works great and we get a lot more stations than with the analog, some we never even got before(not counting the sub channels).
I will try to some of the suggestions, but thanks for all your input.

>>DOTS
Does DOTS stand for something? Digital Optional Transmission Signals?
Dumb Other Things Station?
Naw, probably not. Just the "dot" ie, 25.2 25 dot 2

Only if it's a very old RV..
Question.. Describe your install.. I will describe one way Is this how you did it?
(Ant)-----(Box on Wall)----(Converter)----(TV)
Now if you have a box on a shelf with many buttons.. I will suggest a hook up
Page 2: Make sure you have not reversed the IN and OUT connections on the back (Easy to do)
I'm on my 3rd one here.. 1st had a hang up.. Won't know if #3 does for a week (I hooked it up to the test bench earlier today) #2 works great.
I also do no-pass-through work arounds.. If you are near Detroit I can make house calls, or in this case trailer calls.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

I have an older FW that I store in my metal shop building. Today I hooked up a RCA converter box I got at Wal Mart. Because of the ceiling height I can not raise the antenna. I opened the garage door and got all but one of the local digital channels. The picture was perfect. In the same situation can not get any of the analog channels.
So I would say YES your old antenna will work with the RCA converter box.

Hi John
I see a few of the box makers are installing the "Pass through" now and others will no doubt follow also......
The new box coming looks interesting (Apex DT250) but IMHO only time and good reviews will sort this mess out, After checking out the Magnavox at Wally world I'll pass.....By the way I just tested out the fairly new TV (digital) and I'm impressed with the clarity of digital TV with the batwing antenna.....

Jim I think I was misunderstood. In my shop with the antenna down and connected to the analog input of my TV there is not enough signal to pickup the local analog stations. But when I go with the digital box there is a strong enough signal to get all but one station. I was not trying to pass through the digital box. Before I buy another box I am waiting for one that will pass through and hopefully have a HD output.

Remember, the program that is being aired has to be in high def and your tv has to be a high def tv.
