We have not had any problems with cracks in the bedroom slide. We have one 15000 BTU air and we don't find it necessary to have a second AC. The only time we have a problem in cooling it down is after traveling all day and that really isn't a problem because we run a small fan in the bedroom and in 20 minutes the whole unit is cool. They fazed out the Legacy series a year after we got ours and added the extras as options to the Designer. Guess customers are asking for the Legacy or they wouldn't be bringing it back. Oh and on the AC thing, we have been in temps as high as 106 and no problems.

hoops,I would agree with one ac(very comfortable). What I don't understand are rigs that are mounting ac towards rear of unit. Common sense says air would be not so cool by the time it gets to the front. What does RDQS mean, rear dining quad slide? To Chevy man,
My unit is a 04 3780RLQS,only fiberglass was repaired. I would think my warrenty is up, it really is just a small eye sore. Yes,the Legacy is a $6-10,000 upgrade Designer. my unit came with $3,000 exterior decal upgrade. Can post interior pictures if requested(upon DW's approval of coures).ha ha. specs can still be found on Jayco site.

I believe that Jayco has a 5 year warranty on the frame. I would definitely talk to Whitehorse about it. The fiberglass is just a symptom of the problem you might have underneath. Do a search for frame repairs on Jaycos, Montanas, etc.
We have a 2004 Legacy, full body paint etc. We had the crack at the lower left corner. When we took it to the JAYCO factory they told us that there was a "silent recall". The slide had to be removed and additional strength incorporated. If you are out of warranty you may be out of luck. But, I hope not.
RDQS stands for rear den quad slides. We have the living room that has doors you can shut off that room. I believe Jayco had a 10 year warranty on the frame. So check it out. If it was a silent recall, then Jayco would hornor it.
We have a 2003 Designer Legacy 3710, and had the slide out crack. As mentioned, the only repair is take it down to the frame, weld aluminum support, and rebuild the side wall. In fact we had it done twice, once at "authorized" Jayco dealer in Baltimore, (no longer authorized due to the lousy job/service (40 hr job took 4 months)) and then at Jayco when the first repair failed. Supposedly the defect only effected Designer Legacy line.
Jayco not only covered both repairs, but also fixed a few other things because of the hassle of having to do it twice, even although our unit was out of warranty.

The Designer Legacy name was phased out in 2003. In 2004 the top end was just called Legacy. The Legacy had as standard all the top end options of the Designer Legacy. I have a 2004 Legacy. In 2004 the basic Designer was down graded. In 2005 the Legacy was gone and the down graded Designer became the top of the line.
I consider the whole series of events as a marketing effort to lower the Designer in the overall industry pecking order to a lower cost 5th wheel.
I don't remember the exact year, but this is when the got in and out of the Class A business. This was not a successful venture for Jayco.
IMHO Jayco as a company made a decision to pursue the entry level market with their highly successful Jay Flights and Jay Feathers.
The purchase of the Travel Supreme facilities is a decision to re-enter the high end market. This also provides the opportunity to pursue the class A market again.
