Ok, seems like we are reading more and more about rv break-ins.
I've got a question ...
When you leave your RV (in your yard, storage lot, or campground) do you lock the rv door?
I don't.
Now, I sometimes keep a couple hundred thousand dollars in one of the cabinets (yeah, right) but other than that ... I'd rather lose a few items than deal with the grief of a broken door & lock.

When not in use it's locked but in a campground as long as we are in the park we never lock it.

Insurance won't pay unless it's locked. I had a bike stolen and they wouldn't pay because it wasn't chained and locked. I put unique locks on my basement door in addition to the normal 751's. Granted they can be opened in about 10 seconds, but then I can show forcible entry.

Over the winter we don't lock it but we don't leave anything in it either (remove all electronics, food, ect) When traveling yes we do lock it if we are going to be out of the rv park. Dispersed camping usually not as we generally aren't to far away (walking, riding bikes, fishing, ect) During hunting season we leave on the mountain during the week and use it on weekends and we do lock it up when we leave it for the week.

Funny thing, I lock my rig away from home but I never lock my house.

It's locked, behind a locked fence and gate at home when not in use. During trips, it's locked during transit or if we are going to be gone from the campground and at night. If we are right there nearby, it's unlocked.

At home in the driveway, not locked. At a campground while we are away, locked. But keep in mind, if they want to get in, the lock will not keep them out.
