Looking for a WARM sleeping bag for Darla - our Dachshund. Darla does not like to be cold and anything below 70 - 75 is cold according to her. She also likes to burrow.
We've tried carrying a big fluffy blanket and a pillow to insulate her from the cold floor in the RT and it works - for a while - she burrows into the blanket, on top of the pillow, and sleeps quietly until she gets cold or lonely or whatever in the middle of the night and wants to join DW or myself in bed. Also, consider the space limitation in the RT on an extended trip - the pillow and large blanket take up more space than I would like to devote to Darla's bed.
Anyone out there have any suggestions for a doggie sleeping bag that's warm for Darla?

While a bit different, we had minpins. We were able to get tiny tents that we used as dog houses while camping (cute). They were the displays used in the store. we asked, and were able to buy one. they also have sleeping bags with tiny zippers etc. Might be fun!

If you are handy with needle and thread you could cut down a child's bag, the zipper may be a problem though.

We got a couple of these for our dogs to keep in their crates. They like to dig into them, and get all cozy. Very soft, and machine washable too. Yes, they are for cats, but if you don't tell your dog, I won't either

That's all I use for the dogs now.
Go to any children's store or go into the sleeping bag department at a sportsman store or even Walmart, they all have them.
I bought a couple of childrens sleeping bags and the little dogs just love to get in to keep warm for those cold mornings camping.
They are a lot nicer than having dog beds and blankets all over your MH. And if you choose to put them on the couch or bed, it keeps their hair from getting all over your own furniture.

How about a quilted pillow sham that opens from one end? Seems like that would be about the right size.

There is a thing that looks like 2 frisbees put together that contains a gel - you microwave it for 4-5 minutes and it heats for 8-9 hours. We have one for Maggie - just heat it, put it under the bedding and she is good to go. She sleeps in a crate and when I put my hand in it in the morning, it is very toasty!! The label is gone but I think it was called a Cuddle-Pup or something similar. Petsmart has them.
