The Brake Buddy we will use in our 2008 Honda CRV requires a small cable that attaches between BB and the Break-Away switch. It is necessary to run the cable thru the fire wall to make this connection. We would prefer not drilling a hole. Anyone found a way to squeeze a small cable thru the fire wall without drilling?
Sure appreciate any tips or help on this one, they sure make the '08 tighter than our previous '04 CRV.
Thanks,
Jim

I don't have a CRV, but I didn't run the wire through the firewall of the Blazer. I removed the finishing panel under the driver's side door, and drilled down through the rocker panel. I knew there was nothing there to be destroyed.
The wire enters the cabin from under the reinstalled finishing panel and the extra wire is coiled under the drivers seat, when not plugged in to the BB.
Just another option. Good luck with the installation.

I have never been able to find a good way to do this on any toad. I just run a wire out from the back of the hood, around the pillar and into the door.

Whenever I need to pass a cable between the engine compartment and the inside of the vehicle, I use an existing large grommet by punching a hole in the "web" of the grommet and pushing the wire through. Sometimes a dollop of sealant completes the project, but usually the hole self-seals nicely around the wire.
This is how I got the cable through for my setup on a 2005 CR-V. Grommet is on the driver's side, above where the clutch pedal would be.

someone posted exactly where the grommet was on my 2005 saturn and it was buried so far down and behind "stuff" I couldn't even get at it. Perhaps if I was 18 years old and 121 lbs. I could have done it.

I ran my Brake Buddy wire thru the firewall on my '08 CRV. I examined the firewall looking for existing "chassis plugs" and could not locate ANY. I uncovered the interior carpeting and the felt underlayment (this underlayment is glued to the sheet metal)on the passenger side and then drilled a 1/4" access hole. The location I selected is on the passenger side. As you look at that side you can see 4 black steel brake lines running horizontally. Three and one-half inches below those lines runs another horizontal pipe or conduit. The access hole is 3" below those lines and about 2" to the left as you view it from the engine compartment. There is also an AC drain hose just below and to the right of the new access hole. Another reference is noted where the firewall angles back at a 45 angle. I drilled the hole from the passenger compartment toward the engine compartment. I ran the wire and then sealed the hole with silicone sealant. On the interior I ran the wire in back of the center console and then under the carpet to a location close to where the brake controller sits. If you need a picture just contact me. Sorry about the long winded explanation.
