Driving a 27' MH. Where would be a good place to park on a Sunday morning to visit Pikes Market?
Thank you.

Maybe Everett? Actually, I'm not really joking. I can't imagine driving an RV anywhere near Pike Street Market.

PIKE street market.. not Pikes. I'd suggest the Northgate mall and ride a bus downtown.

When I read the subject, my first thought was--Oregon?

When are you coming? What direction do you want to head into Seattle on Sunday? We can help you out, 27' isn't that long. There are several options.

Being really picky, it is the "Pike Place Market". Anyway, I would support the idea of parking the MH on the outskirts of Seattle and taking the bus into town. Even on a Sunday, there is little parking space for an RV in the downtown area.
Northgate Mall on the north or South Center Mall on the south. On the east side of Lake Washington, possibly Factoria Mall, at the junction of I-90 and I-405.
You might also check the Seattle-Metro (the transit system) web-site for the locations of "Park and Ride" lots which would serve you purpose.

You'll be lucky to find a place to park a car let alone a 27' anything.

Another fun option would be to park in West Seattle on Alki at the Seacrest Boat House and then take the Elliott Bay Water Taxi over to the Seattle Waterfront. You get an outstanding view of Seattle from Alki and on the boat, there are tons of great restaurants on Alki to have a beer afterward, and there should be street parking.
If you really MUST drive downtown, look for a pay lot on the waterfront or along Western Avenue.

Have you checked their website? Pike Place
We haven't been since the early 70's. We used to drive to Seattle to enjoy the weekend on the Waterfront when all the tourists were invading the Beach. What a joy to see all the traffic backed up going in the opposite direction as us....

If you go a bit further west, towards Safeco Field..a 20 minute walk back, you'll have oodles of parking. You could take a bus too, for free. The downtown core is a FREE bus ride area. Walking back along First Ave will take you through Pioneer Sqaure and if you wander one block to your right..away from the water..you'll be in an arts community.
The people that live in the area tend to be a bit on the poor side. You might get asked for money and some of the folks are not overly well fed or hygienic. I won't tell you how to go about your business but when I am down there I am always polite and give thanks it's not me.
Pike Market is wayyy cool, but it takes time to really see it. There all kinds of hidden stairways and small shops. The veggies are just wonderful and the fresh seafood...*sluuurp*...and don't not see the shops across the street. There are some pretty neato-keen-boss shops over there. Dried pepper rings and baked goods...and on a nice Sunday there are lots of local artsy types selling stuff on the east part of the market. It's a fun place to spend hours...and a Sunday..how perfect.
