Hi Guys,

I am pondering changing the shocks on my '06 35GS. Any thoughts on which ones work the best?

Thanks,

Beave

I had koni's put on mine. Much superior to the stock ones. I don't know if they are better than bilsteins since I have never used them.

I put Koni's on my 35 GS and they were a definite improvement over the OEM shocks. Did not try Bilsteins after researching the RV.net forums as it seemed Koni's rose to the top of the list.

I have Bilstein HD shocks on my 25 ft E350 and like them very much, but I certainly won't argue against the Konis. They have a fine reputation and may in fact be a bit the better of the two. Just go with one or the other and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the improvement.

Some Kodiak chassis has eye-to-eye and some have bolt-to-bolt on the rear. You will need to see which type rear shocks you have before anyone can help. Might as well crawl under and see what kind you have.

I ordered mine from Hendersons Lineup but some on this forum have found them considerably less than the $170.00 apiece that I paid. Koni has a web-site that gives a listing of dealers.

If you search around both these and IRV2 Forums, the clear winner on all points are the Koni FSD's. I bought mine from Henderson's Line-Ip in Quartzsite (home QTH is Oregon..). There are other places that sell them on-line, but make sure that they either know what they're talking about with respect to your chassis, or call Koni direct. There are some pretty smart folks over there that will tell you if they do or don't have what fits.

Just had my Koni FSD's installed on my rig yesterday. Just on the drive home I noticed the improvement. Very happy with the purchase.
Ordered my rears through Henderson's a few months ago, mainly cause I was having trouble getting the Eye Bolt-Eye Bolt shocks that I needed (Koni now has a specific part number for them). Fronts I got through Precision Frame, price was a bit better.
Both Hendersons and Precision were great to work with.
Good luck,
Bill
