..............Need more cold air in bedroom area so I was thinking of blocking Off the ceiling vent at the end of the living room area . I was going to use duct tape but i might just cut a piece of cardboard and block it of that way . Comments , thanks , jf

If you do that you will reduce the air flow across the coils and probably reduce the efficiency. What I do is put a small fan in the living area blowing into the sleeping area and it makes a huge difference.  Works for me.

If you have an uneven cooling situation the best way to correct it is to put the fan switch to on and just let the compressor turn on and off. It is supposed to be more economical as well as more comfortable.

I have 2 ACs and sometimes use a fan to move the air around and equalize when it's really hot outside.

Check and make sure your ductwork in the bedroom is not blocked in anyway. Also take the inside cover off of the unit and make sure that you are not losing any air there.

..............Ok , checked all outlets and airflow is good from all outlets . I'm simply going to purchase a small , standup , fan from W.Mt. to pull air from living area to bed slide . Thanks , I knew I'd get good advise here . , jf

Jimmyfred, do you have adjustable ceiling registers? If not, maybe you might want to consider buying them & installing them. You can adjust the ones in the living area to blow out less air & leave bedroom ones wide open. If you have a Chill Grille on your AC near return air vent you can open it all the way when you need more air in living area.

For those of you contemplating purchasing a new fiver, this is the exact reason that I decided to order mine with the optional 2nd AC in the bedroom area.

Couple of options.
1. Instead of buying a rather large stand fan, get a 9" or so osillating one and place it on the dresser at foot of bed.
2. Crack open the vent in bedroom to allow heat to escape. Know this sounds crazy while running the A/C, but it helps. Use in conjunction w/#1.
