Hey guys
I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a new trailer. I'm looking for a trailer 24ft+ and sleeps 4 or more. With a GVWR of about 5000lbs. A walk around queen bed is a must. Can anyone recommend a starting point to start my search? Or better, a make and model of a trailer that fits these requirements. Thanks for your help

Don't know if they fit your needs exactly but a place to start:
Skyline Lite line
KZ
TrailManor
Jayco Jayfeather
Keystone brands
Starcraft Starstream
FunFinderX
Eco
Also, do you want bunks/no bunks? What's the longest you want to tow? Is it 4 adults or will there be children? If you give a bit more information, we can find you a few trailers with floorplans that you might like....
Start online there and look for a UVW of around 3500#'s or so. This will give you a couple of hundred #'s for options and about a 1000#'s for stuff to get you up around 5000#'s.
GVWR *can* be deceiving IMO - as sometimes the CC of a trailer can be HUGE. Case in point - Our trailer has a GVWR of 7500#'s - WAY too heavy for our tow vehicle. A lite trailer we looked at had a GVWR of 6500#'s - much better right? Both trailers weighed the same dry w/options (5000#'s)! The first trailer just had a HUGE cargo capacity - of which we knew we'd never use it all up. We went with that trailer and weigh between 6000 - 6500#'s fully loaded depending on the trip/duration - which is perfect for our tow vehicle (7900# max tow).

Click here! Dutchmen has a nice line of "Lite" trailers. Our first TT was a Dutchmen Sport Lite (18 foot). Love it, but it got too small after a couple years. Well made, didn't have an ounce of problem with it from day 1.

We've been very happy with our Cherokee Lite 28A. Well constructed, good floorplan for us. Stated dry weight is 5340#. If some of you are smaller (i.e. kids), the bunks would work well. Too difficult to get in and out of for an adult, although it can be done, and I'm proof.
EDIT: Manufacturer is Forest River.

It will be 2 adults 2 kids. So bunks for the kids would work.

Have a look at the Jayco JayFeather LGT 25F. It's about the same weight you are talking about and has a RV Queen walk around bed.

Look at the Keystone Passport 28RL. We have had ours for a whole two months. We are getting ready to haul it 3000 miles in the next month. If you are still looking when we get back, email me and I'll give you the details.
