The final straw was when I was pulling the rig through the gate into the back yard I got stuck with the rig halfway through. I was in a real pickle, unhooked the truck but couldn't get it out of the back yard because rig was halfway through gate. What a muddy mess. Had to wait a week for the ground to dry up, then re-hooked and finally got it into yard. Left huge ruts, and when backing around rig wheels tore up the yard. As I stated, I moved it next to the house. Worth every penny.....Crushed gravel would have probably worked instead of the concrete. You might consider a driveway from the street to the backyard?

I camp in fields all the time anyways. Put it in 4 and go. Unless its a swamp, you'll be fine as long as you don't stop to look around.

I have done this many times over the years with various types of trailers, both for construction and pleasure trailers.
All I ever do is put down some minimum 5/8" plywood and then put 2 X 12's on top of the plywood to run the wheels on. It requires a fair bit of lumber, but is well worth it to avoid tearing up somebodies lawn. (Or my own)
It takes a little time because you have to move a few feet, get out and move the wood, check to make sure you are on the 2X12's, but it works good.
Just make sure the wood is under the TV too.

How about cardboard? You can get boxes for free or almost free from grocery stores. As a kid, we'd sometimes get stuck when we would go driving on the north end of South Padre Island. To get back to hard sand, we would lay out a trail of flattened boxes. Worked like a charm.

Call a tree moving company and they will have plenty of plywood sheets that they use to move their tree planting trucks (tree-spades)across lawns, if it is just a one time thing. Other wise try some two by 12's and use a helper to keep tires on the wood.

I like Barney's permanent solution. Be careful with the wood, make sure they're long enough. I put one under my HTT in the side yard when I parked it. When I pulled it the camper out of it's spot and it came off the wood, the wood angled up and snagged the waste valve and busted it off.

Heres an old truckers trick, if it isn't a swamp. Get a roll of heavy duty chain link and put it over grass, then drive on chain link. Once out, roll back up and store for next time.
