Interval light. At the same time, during the latest occurance, I had the particulate filter light (green) come on as well. I will update as I get info.

I only had a check engine light. The code was P0087 which is low fuel pressure in the fuel rail. the dealer determined that it was the fuel filter (measured pressure before/after). What bites is that I had a spare filter on board, but I had no idea that was the issue. This is my 3rd check engine, and 2nd tow (and 2nd messed up vacation). I am not very happy with Chevy. I hope I am getting to the end of the issues, or I'll be looking for another rig.

A friends truck was doing something similar, kept popping a Check Engine Light with low fuel rail pressure. Turned out hit filter was too loose, found it when when we went to replace the filter thinking it was dirty. Snugged it up, reset the light and hasn't had a problem since

I wonder if all these problems are not from these units sitting around Jayco factories lots and then dealers with close to empty tanks for months before buyers purchase and condensation and rust forms in the tanks? Just a thought.

Maybe an initial filter change after running clean diesel through a couple of tanks would keep this type of thing from happening? Tex

John, I can't help think that this is not Chevy's problem but a problem with the tank or a fuel vendor. A pre-filter such as one made by Racor would seem a cheaper alternative than buying another motorhome.

I had a motorhome in 1989 on an Oshkosh chassis (John Deere) that had to have the tank replaced at it had basically rusted from the factory

The filter plugged on the first trip and kept plugging.

A Racor installation should be relatively inexpensive and should help the main filter if the problem continues

Here's the update on my Memorial day weekend SNAFU. Gasoline in my Diesel fuel was the cause of me and the fam staying home. My total service bill for this was $1,264.00 plus the 60 gallons of contaminated fuel I lost plus campground deposits. So I went to the last station I filled at, Conoco/Loaf and Jug, filed paperwork with the not surprised manager, heard back from their claims manager who requested all of my bills due to this and SO FAR looks like I'll just be out my lost weekend in Moab.
Me being new to the Deisel world, which I've been longing awhile, and this being more or less our first trip attempt, I have to wonder is this a common occurance or do I need to stick to truck stops and Flying J's??

Irish,

Was the gas in the service station's diesel tank or did you grab the wrong nozzle at the pump? This is also our first diesel and I am paranoid about putting in the wrong product. I remind myself at the pump to look for the GREEN.

Just don't try that in WI (or other states...).

Most of the diesel around here has Yellow pump handles & gas has Green, but even then, there is no standard here...

It is not until you've lost everything, that you can truly gain anything.

Thanks for the heads up. We haven't taken the Seneca out of CA yet and may have to wait a while with these high fuel prices.

The Station had the gas in their tanks. After I found out what the prob was I went straight to the station to make sure it was'nt me (I have been known to be an idiot) due to some stations around here who don't have deisel will still have green handles. Thats when I filed the claim. How did I do for my very first deisel fill, the Irish luck was'nt with me that day.
